A Good Sunday Outing

After yesterday's 1/2 marathon,. I developed 2 blisters on two toes  on both feet and I NEVER get blisters.  Luckily, the toes are fine today as the blisters never really formed and I'm not even that sore at all. Later last night,  hubby and I also indulged in some fine St. Patty's Day festivities.  Sorry, no photos!!

Today, a good friend from Philly came down to visit and we decided to take advantage of the quiet DC morning and walked around the Capitol grounds, then headed to Eastern Market to check out the flea market but didn't really buy anything, and finally stopped for refreshments at Boxcar Tavern. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny afternoon.

We also brought our SLR cameras so we could take advantage of practicing our macro shots so we headed down to the Botanical Gardens to see the orchids and flowers in bloom.  Here are a few of my shots:

We ended coming back to my place to relax and have a quick dinner  before she had to go back to the train station to head back to Philly.   It was a perfect Sunday and we didn't even have to shop.

Until next time....

  1. Beautiful photos Nancy!
I had grandiose plans of heading to an outdoor lifestyle center that is chock full of all my favorite shops but instead ended up running (I did 2 miles!!!) cleaning and taking another 2 mile after dinner walk with the family.
Sometimes shopping isn't necessary you know?
    Have a great week!

  2. Those are very pretty photos. You have a good eye. With the beautiful weather lately, I should just go into the city with my camera, dog, and DH in tow to take some photos.
