HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Some pics of Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear!
Just wanted to post a few pics from yesterday's Rally to Restore Sanity and / or Fear. It was a bit too crazy out there for, just too many people and there was no way we could make it to the main stage area. I did end up taking a few photos and ended up going home to watch the Rally on tv. Enjoy!
Cardigans again.
last year's Anthropologie outfit - still love this look
random look: I love the mod-ness of it all.
This I could totally do except I'll need to buy a skirt like that.
cardigan: ATL
I haven't had a chance to take outfit pics in a few days. Sometimes, I get stuck especially during the work week even though I have so many clothes in the closet. I have no excuses.

Cardigans
Whole outfit: ATL
Belt: thrifted
Shoes: Anthropologie
Just like jackets, I am totally obsessed with cardigans, well mostly long boyfriend style cardigans. Here is one of them. Not sure if I really like this outfit or maybe it's just the photo, but this will do.

More jackets
Today was just cold enough that I wore a thick sweater on my my bike to work. It didn't keep me warm, but all the exertion did the trick.
Tomorrow should be an exciting day. I'm planning on going to the Rally to Restore Sanity sponsored by good old John Stewart. It should be give me quite an opportunity to dress up, have B take some pictures of me and then me take pics of everyone else. How fun! And to top it off, it will be cool out so I hope to go there will be some interesting characters. Plus, it's Halloween weekend. Can't wait to see those cosutmes.
I stopped by at Talbot's the other day with an old friend and tried on this teal jacket that looked pretty nice. Unfortunately, the the price was not so nice so I think I'll wait on it. I wish I could have taken a picture of the back, but then my (flat) butt would have shown!!

Interesting outfit of the day
I've been into dressy jackets lately and came upon this one on a blog. Because she has short hair, I particularly noticed the jacket even more. I'm always curious to see what others are wearing and this is something I could definitely wear. Unfortunately, I didn't save the blog and I so wish I had. I did save the picture though.
There is a similar tweed jacket at Ann Taylor Loft that I like and hope to find since it's on sale right now:

Look at the stars...look how they shine for you...
Ah Coldplay. I forgot how good they were. It's too bad I never saw them in concert but I'm sure they will come around my neck of the woods eventually (they always do).
So yesterday was quite a shopping day but I wanted to post a picture of my black faux leather jacket that I got this past weekend from Macy's. I got to say it looks pretty good. Now all I need is a motorcycle to go with the jacket.

I should have worn my red heels or my red patent leather boots, but as usual I was trying stuff on for the camera, not really for going out. Plus, it's been quite warm out.
This top was very unusual and I like the contrasting color:

Shopping Day
These were some random outfits I had on the other day. I guess it looks good, but I'm so not used to wearing lighter colored pants. I feel like they make my hips look huge.

I found a leather jacket....well kind of.
I happened upon a beautiful leather jacket at Macy's the other day. Mind you I've been looking for this jacket for some time and was hoping to find a different color rather then black, but then I realized that I love black and that black goes with everything, so why not. By the way, it's faux leather and I really didn't mind. Heck it even felt like leather and didn't look cheap. Plus, I got it for a steal for $30, originally priced at $99.
I guess I'm regressing to the days when I just wore black all the time. It made sense back then and it still should. Yesterday, I was looking for a black knit top to wear to work and could not find any in my dresser. Funny how things have changed. I remember my whole wardrobe being 95% black.
Make note to self: buy more black.

Haven't posted in a while - Halloween is on it's way!!
I guess I'm still trying to figure out what I want to focus on in this blog. I like that I can keep a daily journal although I really don't update it that often. That's okay. I realize that I'm allowed to write anything I want and no one can stop me. Sometimes I'm on this kick and want to write down everything, post outfit pics, post stuff that I want and NEED of course, and other times I get on this lazy trip.
Anyway, I would love to focus more on this blog since the holidays are coming up: Halloween being a favorite of mine since I was a child. Unfortunately, I didn't really plan on doing anything this Halloween, but I did end up finding these awesome glasses. Leave it to Martha S. to come up with this idea:

BAD, BAD Weekend!!! (depressing rant)
Do you ever have one of those weekends when something sets you off and you can't stop eating? This was the weekend. It started on saturday when I made my lo-fat cranberry muffins and ended up eating 3 or 4 of them. They were pretty darn good and I told myself I wouldn't eat anything else until later that evening at the Oktoberfest party. BIG MISTAKE!!! We also had falafal for lunch and wasn't as good as I remembered it but I ate anyway. OH well.
Later, we went to the Oktoberfest party....and then I saw her (A)... pregnant. I had to look twice to make sure and yep she sure was. (A bit about her: 2 years ago at the age of 41 she was pregnant but ended up losing her baby 2 days after delivery. She was devastated and I really didn't think she would try again). But there she was, right in front of me, 6 months pregnant (naturally) at the age of 43. I was happy for her and yet I felt very depressed afterwards.
For anyone who's every gone through infertility like me, it's one of the most hardest thing one can go through. It breaks you down mentally and physically, it consumes you and it's the only thing you can think about. I thought I was over it but I guess not. It brought back memories and now realize I still want to have a child. Yes, it still hurts. GOD THIS MAKES ME WANT TO EAT!!!
B was as supportive as he can be but you know men, they really don't have the right thing to say. I feel very alone and hungry and stressed and overweight. Will anything ever go right for me? For us? Will we ever get lucky?
Sunday I moped around and didn't get anything done. We watched football, then ate, and watched more football.
Monday was a bit better. I managed to put away my summer clothes and bring out the sweaters even though it was 80 degrees outside. Hey, it's supposed to get into the high 60's tomorrow, so bring it on!!!!
Maybe this weekend didn't start off to be that great, but today is a new day and my eating habits have been good so far. If I'm at work, I'm usually good during the day but once I get home because I'm so hungry, I start snacking before I cook. It's usually a quick fix like crackers and cheese, or bread, or something salty and then dinner too. That does add on the calories.
As for exercise, I did ride my bike in to work today but will have to leave it at work since dh is taking me to the chiropractor. Afterwards, haircut appointment, then dinner. Not sure what yet. God, is my life this boring? I need to mix it up a bit. Thrift shopping? At least I'll get a haircut.

Brunch
Since I haven't posted outfits so much, I've decided to post some brunch pics. Menu for the day:
- creme brule french toast - tried to make it lo-cal, except for the eggs.
- turkey bacon / veggie sausages
- banana bread - I probably won't eat this
- poppy seed fruit salad in a honey dressing
- onion quiche - lo cal except for the crust - I threw in one egg and 2 egg whites and lots of onions.
- spinach cranberry salad with balsamic dressing - it's got olive oil so that's healthy, right? :)
- mimosas - maybe I'll skip the orange juice and drink the champagne instead
- coffee
Yes, I did make too much food but that's what happens when you want extra. The Quiche turned out to be delicious.
Since I live in a condo and my dining room has no light, please disregard how dark pictures the picture. I have no windows in my dining room.
I'll post the healthiest: my poppy seed fruit salad. Behind it is the creme brulee french toast which came out pretty darn good and behind that was my banana bread which i didn't eat. Enjoy.
