I spent a fabulous weekend with my good friend in NYC this weekend. NYC was fab as usual with all it's energy and excitement. I always think I could live there although the hubby always says it would get old pretty fast. I suppose he's right on some level (expenses, small living space). Anyway, I guess I'll enjoy those short visits when I'm there.
We arrived on Friday mid-afternoon, dropped off our stuff in the hotel, then headed to Greenwich Village to window shop. We ended up in the East Village later and headed up to my favorite restaurant, Yakatori Taisho, on St. Mark's Place. It's tight. It's small. But the food is fabulous. There's nothing like grilled meat and veggies on a stick. You can tell a good restaurant when you are the only non-Japanese person there. More walking after dinner after then back to the hotel.
Saturday: Shopping day plus imbibing on food and drink. Big breakfast at a diner. Walk and shop, then an afternoon snack of a shared bottle of red plus hummus and foccaccia at Antique Garage in Soho listening to great jazz.
One of my special purchases was at Kate Spade. I had eyed this particular bag for some time so I decided to purchase only to find out it was on sale (SCORE!!! see photo below)
Then dinner at my favorite pizza place: Rubirosa's for pizza and another bottle of wine. (We were on a roll reliving our youth!) Walk, and walk some more. Stop off for a nightcap at a sports pub (not my choice but at that time all other places were packed).
Anyway, I was feeling okay the next day but knew that I would have to work my A$$ off this week at the gym. I wonder if I'll lose any weight?
Another memorable weekend to remember.
