Oh my!!

So much for updating my blog.  It's been a little over a week and there has been lots to do, but unfortunately no shopping as pay day will be on Tuesday.  I can't wait for discount shopping on Ebay and such.

The bad thing about this time of year is that you can't really buy summer clothes as all the new Fall lines are out and most of the summer sales are over.  And you really can't buy any Fall / Winter clothes because it's still 90 degrees outside and the heat doesn't seem to let up except for short periods of time.

A few things from ebay I'm in like with:

So these seem to the be the go-to items for fall. The second outfit reminds me of the 80's which I think I can still get away with.  I like the idea of the first one. I'll have to think about though.

Lately, I've been drawn to color but as you can see the outfits on the left are very neutral.  I'll have to figure some out brighten them up...maybe jewelry or a cool bag. Too much to think about right now.

What would you do???? ..

I remember watching a movie "Shallow Grave" about 3 roommates who have a tenant in their 2 flat. They come down to find him dead of natural causes, he has no family and no sign of friends. When they look around his apartment they find $400,000.00 in cash and they figure he has no family or friends and no one will miss the money, so they decide to keep it. What would you do? The movie of course gets really weird and and everything goes wrong. The one thing i remember:  Ewan McGregor. I forgot how beauttiful he was.  Sorry B.  I still love you though.

So much for writing everyday.

Well, it looks like I didn't start my daily writing process in August.  Blogging is darn hard and just to keep up with it on a daily basis is much harder.  So I've decided to write when I feel in the mood.

Anyway, this weekend was a very full weekend with lots to do.

Friday - LL came by and we had lunch at Nordstrom and had a chance to look around since it was TAX-FREE day in VA for clothing and shoes under $100.  Most of the summer clothes were gone and most of the stores had not recieved their new Fall inventory yet, so I didn't buy anything for myself.  Afterwards, we ended up going to Jazz in the Garden for some deliciously strong sangrias, cool Norwegian jazz and great conversation.  B joined us later.

Saturday - It was the Mini Cooper Rally at FedEx field.  B and I registered to drive Mini Coopers in a course to test out how the minis would do in sharp turns and fast speed. It was quite fun and had a chance to test drive twice.

Afterwards, we ended up driving back to DC and decided to check out the National Arboretum, which is USDA research facility and a "living musem" in conservation of trees, plants and gardens. We took quite a few pictures and I think I had on a decent outfit on to take some pictures.

Lastly, B and I went to the bike shop to get a new bike.  They had the exact same bike and we decided to go ahead and get it.  We definitely need to start riding, if only the weather would cooperate.  It's so HOT!!!

Later, A. called wanting to get together at Nick's Riverside Grill where a friend of hers, James Keyes, played an acoustic set of original and old folk tunes. He was pretty darned good.  My brother showed up too and the night was pretty decent.

Sunday - headed out to moms. I think this outfit looked pretty good.

I'm not sure what to do?

I have to get my priorities straight. I said I was going to post daily pics of what I'm wearing and I haven't. Maybe tomorrow.

We just go the wedding invitations for J's wedding in Jamaica in January.  Now, how to save money for the big day, plus it's our anniversary.  We still have a 5 months to save up.  Must we get a 2nd job to pay for the trip?  I guess one of us has to.

Currently listing to:  Radiohead - "All I Need"
Mood: content for now.
current want: these shoes at DSW. I didn't even look at the designer. Oh well.

Boring Monday.

My day started off waking up late around 9:30. B had gotten me a DVD of "September Issue", the documentary on Anna Wintour and her 2007 Vogue magazine september issue which was the biggest issue of its time.  I did find the documentary to be a bit interesting: I found out she has a teenage daughter, came from an affluent editing and publishing family in Englad, and is All Work and No Play.  I do admire her work ethic and sometimes I wish I was in the line of work, yet it is such a cut throat world.  My dream would be more in the art field as a fashion photographer.

Afterwards, I ended up going to work out and then meeting b at the National Gallery of Art to the Ginsbery photo exhibit.

They say beauty is pain, but isn't this taking it a bit too far?

Start of my August blog

Currently listening to:  Spoon - "Everything Hits at Once"

Last night I brought out my old pictures that I hadn't seen in years.  I didn't think it would take me into the wee hours of the night, but there I was surrounded of my photos of past and present, with my raw emotions taking over: laughter, sadness, and nostalgia.  Sorting through them all was kind of a nightmare and I woke up this morning with photos all over my living room floor.  The things that I really wanted to do was scan some old pics of my parents since they original pictures were so old and no one else had copies of them.  I mostly was looking at old pics of my parents back in '67 when he studying at UW.

My mom and dad pregnant with me in Seattle, WA.  Love that dress.

I think my mom loved navy. I've seen her lots of navy.

Mom holding me.

I call this the "Jackie O" dress.  Mom didn't tell me where she was going in this outfit.

Tomorrow:  Beat Memories: The Photographs of Allen Ginsberg, May 2–September 16, 2010.  I've been wanting to see this exhibit for a while.  More details and pics tomorrow.
